Being a millennial in the workplace right now is giving me whiplash. Boomers are essentially the old guard and their ways of running business are going the way of the dodo, though I was brought up in that climate and sort of got used to it. While work environments had a tendency to be toxic, I did find some merits in their approach.
Gen Z is almost like the polar opposite reaction to boomer workplace culture. While I think going away from that is a good thing, I also think there have been overcorrections. The culture clash is noticeable and the fact that the old guard seems to be ignoring it only adds to the challenge.
What “illegal immigrants” in their right mind would be out partying at an after hours night club with everything going on? I wouldn’t be surprised if there were a few, but 100? Plenty of people will be protesting in Seattle, represent your own city. It may not get as much media coverage, but it can motivate people in your local community and that’s the kind of movement we really need across the country.
